It’s about a dance competition, when students at Drake High in the Bronx compete with  the Upper East Side Kids. You know the cards are stacked against them. Yet the newcomers find their groove and come through. This appealing, heart-felt musical has a superb cast, featuring Tam Mutu as Pierrre Duaine.

Many people may know that the story centers on the events of 9/11/2001, when two planes flew into the World Trade Center in New York City.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — “Come from Away,” the moving true story based on the 9/11 attack on the Twin Towers, will be opening at the Mayo Performing Arts Center in a few days. Actor Andrew Hendrick, who plays Mayor Claude Elliott, of Gander, Newfoundland, shared his insights during a recent interview. Andrew grew up in Connecticut and attended Western State University, majoring in theatre. He said his father worked at the World Trade Center when the attack happened. Andrew was 12 years old at the time.
