Congregation Beth Israel (CBI) in Scotch Plains will host a community commemoration of Holocaust Remembrance Day, known as Yom HaShoah in Hebrew, on Sunday, April 27, at 4 p.m. The program is a partnership of CBI’s Second/Third Generation Holocaust Survivors Group, the JCC of Central NJ, and 3GNJ. The program, which is free and open to the community, will feature the short film "Malka," starring Tovah Feldshuh.

Thirty-two students representing all three divisions at The Wardlaw+Hartridge School in Edison shared their talents with the W+H community and provided almost two hours of entertainment at the annual Spring Music Recital on April 6 in the Berry Performing Arts Center. Sharon Byrne, Performing Arts Department Chair, organized the event with colleagues Shannon Sari, Lower and Middle School music teacher, and Tim Burke, instrumental music teacher and Band Director.

WESTFIELD, NJ — The public has voted on the school district’s annual budget, bond referendum and school board, and though not all of the mail-in ballots have been counted, unofficial results as of election night are in, according to the county clerk's office. School BoardFour candidates are vying for three seats on the Westfield Board of Education. Newcomer Violetta Watson has 2,678 votes. Incumbents Kristen Sonnek-Schmelz has 3,445 Mary Wickens has 2,991 and Rob Benacchio has 3,201.
