Columbia’s $17 million deficit and the historic 2024 presidential election have been a large part of the Chronicle’s coverage this year but there were many memorable moments throughout 2024. The Chronicle’s photojournalists have worked to capture history including the Democratic National Convention, Election Day, Mexican Independence, concerts and the campus experience. Lerma comienza la película exagerando su necesidad de comer comida Mexicana para sobrevivir.

September 17, 2024 Cada año, miles de personas vinieron a la avenida Michigan el 16 de sept. para ondear banderas con orgullo. Ese día marca la fecha en que Miguel Hidalgo, un sacerdote católico convocó a la congregación mayoritariamente indígena y mestiza de su iglesia en Dolores, México y los instó a luchar por su independencia de España en 1810.

September 3, 2024 Columbia alum Fernando Diaz is the new bilingual faculty advisor to the Columbia Chronicle, a position created to help grow the 18-month-old Spanish-language section of the student-run campus media outlet. Diaz, who was on staff at the Chronicle when he was a student, went on to be managing editor of Hoy, Tribune Publishing’s Spanish-language daily newspaper that closed in 2019.
