When I began working for The Jersey Journal in June of 2009, it was supposed to be a temporary job — six months, I was told. It’s 15 years later, and in that time I’ve met some very talented and committed journalists and watched enormous changes in newspapers in Jersey City, in Hudson County, in New Jersey and nationally. I joined The Journal shortly after it became a tabloid. It was a robust newspaper with an energetic staff covering almost everything that moved in Hudson County.

The North Bergen Housing Authority held a grand opening ceremony Monday, Feb. 12, for the Meadow Hill Apartments, a new affordable apartment building for residents who are 55 and older with limited income. “This new building is a testament to our commitment to providing quality housing for our senior residents, and is a reflection of our dedication to creating a vibrant and inclusive community for all,’’ said Mayor Nicolas Sacco.

Northwind Group, a Manhattan-based real estate private equity firm and debt fund manager, has announced that it provided a $70 million first position mortgage loan to fund the completion of a 29-story, 209-unit multi-family building at 622 Summit Ave., in Jersey City.
