Still, there’s always room for improvement, and a pilot program in four American cities is working to transform Jewish schools, including one in Boca Raton, by helping them to raise money, engage with their local community and update their campuses.

There’s no need anymore to schlep to Miami to buy discounted kosher food. The nonprofit Miami Kosher Ko-Op is now delivering to homes in Broward and Palm Beach counties as part of its mission to make sure anyone of any income can easily access kosher products at reasonable prices — and to that end has changed its name to Kosher 4 Less. “The new name reflects our mission to service well beyond the Miami area and to be helping families of all different income brackets,” spokesman Ben Feferman said.

Rescue crews on Sunday morning shut down westbound lanes on Interstate 595 after a tanker burst into flames and created a thick cloud of black smoke. Davie police are advising drivers to avoid I-595 from Pine Island Road to SW 136th Avenue as well as State Road 84 westbound. “The whole area is shutdown due to a tanker fire,” Davie Police posted on X.
