    The Crook County High School track & field squad dominated the annual Breaking the Ice Invitational, held Thursday at Ward Rhoden Stadium in Prineville March 20. The Cowboys finished with 276 points, while Madras was second in the seven-team meet with 179.5 points. Rounding out the top seven were Redmond, 112.5, Condon, 29, North Lake, 27, Mitchell/Spray/Wheeler County, 18, and Gilchrist, 4.

    The Crook County Cowgirls finished second to the Summit Storm Wednesday at a golf tournament held at Crooked River Ranch. Summit finished with a team score of 386, while the Cowgirls posted a score of 428. Ridgeview finished in third place with a score of 441, while Trinity Lutheran was fourth, 451, and Bend fifth, 458. Redmond, Mountain View and Madras also competed, but did not field complete teams.
