The 2025 Prineville Follies, “Under the Neon” once again showcased the performing talents of the Crook County community. Packing the Crook County High School auditorium March 21 and 22, the event featured a variety of singing and dancing and other performance by local residents.

The Crook County High School track & field squad dominated the annual Breaking the Ice Invitational, held Thursday at Ward Rhoden Stadium in Prineville March 20. The Cowboys finished with 276 points, while Madras was second in the seven-team meet with 179.5 points. Rounding out the top seven were Redmond, 112.5, Condon, 29, North Lake, 27, Mitchell/Spray/Wheeler County, 18, and Gilchrist, 4.

The Crook County Cowgirls finished second to the Summit Storm Wednesday at a golf tournament held at Crooked River Ranch. Summit finished with a team score of 386, while the Cowgirls posted a score of 428. Ridgeview finished in third place with a score of 441, while Trinity Lutheran was fourth, 451, and Bend fifth, 458. Redmond, Mountain View and Madras also competed, but did not field complete teams.

The Crook County Cowboys finished in the middle of the pack in the opening golf tournament of the year, which was held Wednesday, March 19 at Meadow Lakes Golf Course in Prineville. Crook County finished with a team score of 388 to finish in seventh place in the 12-team tournament, which was won by Summit with a round of 321. Ridgeview finished second with a score of 341.

After falling to Baker in a close game in the first round of the OSAA Class 4A boys basketball tournament the Crook County Cowboys rebounded to win their next two games to finish fourth in the tournament, which was held at Forest Grove High School.
