Pamplin Media Group (PMG) is a media organization founded by Robert B. Pamplin, Jr., primarily serving the Portland metropolitan region in Oregon. As of 2019, PMG operates 25 newspapers and has a workforce of 200 employees. The largest publication in the group is the Portland Tribune, which was established by Pamplin in 2001. PMG also encompasses a collection of newspapers that were previously part of Community Newspapers, Incorporated, focusing on the Portland area, with most being published weekly. In September 2012, the company introduced the Hillsboro Tribune. By 2009, PMG had acquired newspapers in Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas, and Columbia counties. On January 8, 2013, it expanded its portfolio by purchasing five newspapers from Eagle Newspapers, Inc. in the Portland vicinity: the Canby Herald, Wilsonville Spokesman, Molalla Pioneer, The Newberg Graphic, and the Woodburn Independent, as well as The Madras Pioneer located in Central Oregon. In June 2013, PMG also acquired the Central Oregonian from Eagle.
