Inverclyde's Provost, Drew McKenzie, was joined by representatives of local groups at John Galt's final resting place in the cemetery in Inverkip Street. A lone piper provided the musical backdrop as wreaths were laid at the author's grave.

The play park, being built on vacant land off Cumberland Road, is starting to take shape, with some equipment already in place.

(Image: George Munro) THE organisers of the biggest day in Inverclyde's agricultural calendar say they're looking forward to making the event bigger and better than other. The 190th Kilmacolm and Port Glasgow Show will be held at The Knapps on Saturday, May 10, with crowds expected to flock to the event from Inverclyde, Renfrewshire and further afield.
