The Kiskiminetas Watershed Association formally opened a canoe/kayak access ramp Saturday in Leechburg’s Riverfront Park. Genay Hess, association president, told the people gathered that the group took on the project at the request of late Leechburg mayor Wayne Dobos and Leechburg Council. The association initially received a grant from the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy’s Canoe Access Development Fund.

The Guardian Angels Parish Festival in Harrison had great weather Wednesday for its opening night. The festival runs nightly through Saturday night with rides, games and music. The festival is held on the church grounds at 800 Montana Ave. in Natrona Heights, just off of Freeport Road. Louis B. Ruediger is a Tribune-Review photographer.
