Pittsburgh Tribune-Review

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, commonly referred to as "the Trib," is the second-largest daily newspaper in the Greater Pittsburgh area of Western Pennsylvania. It switched to a fully digital format on December 1, 2016, yet it still ranks as the second-largest daily in Pennsylvania, attracting nearly one million unique visitors each month. Originally established on August 22, 1811, as the Greensburg Gazette, it merged with various other publications to become the Greensburg Tribune-Review in 1889. For many years, the newspaper was distributed primarily in the eastern suburban regions of Westmoreland and parts of Indiana and Fayette counties. This changed in May 1992, when the Trib expanded its reach to cover the entire Greater Pittsburgh metropolitan area, following a strike that left the city without a newspaper for several months, affecting the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and The Pittsburgh Press.
