The voluntary agreement will affect nearly 1,000 students attending the national schools in Termonfeckin, Sandpit, Clogherhead and Walshestown. The ban was initiated by the schools’ principals, who consulted parents in recent weeks after discussions with their boards of management. They hope the ban will be supervised by the parent-teacher associations in the participating schools.
