This isn't news to anyone who has a good understanding of sklearn models or model evaluation metrics, but I recently ran into a situation I had a hard time understanding until I dug deeper; I document my learnings here. I was evaluating a logistic regression classifier using sklearn's built-in accuracy and AUC score functions, and was observing a relatively high AUC score with a low corresponding accuracy measure.
