    McPHERSON COUNTY, Kan. — An attempted traffic stop in Moundridge Thursday led to a chase that ended in a field between Moundridge and Inman. According to the Moundridge Police Department, Officer Wagner began a pursuit after the driver refused to stop that continued for several minutes through rural McPherson County. The chase ended near 15th and Chisholm Road where the driver fled on foot into a nearby field that was waist deep in water.

    McPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson Water Park provided an update today on cleanup from Tuesday’s storm.  Excess water continues to be pumped off, and while great progress on debris and storm damage has been made, work continues on the pool itself, with pumps running as fast as possible without overloading the system. As of now the pool is not yet at the correct depth for proper filtration to take place so appropriate chemistry can be reached.

    HUMBOLDT, Kan. — Humboldt celebrates Summer Solstice Friday and Saturday with music around the downtown square. That begins at 4 p.m. with Cade Polsgrove at Octagon City Coffee Company, Thundersleet at 5 p.m. at Cozy’s Grindhouse, and Harmonica DnA at Stick’s Golf Lounge. On Saturday, KYNFOLK will perform at 11 a.m. on the Downtown Bandstand. Also on Saturday is the first 3rd Saturday of the year in downtown Humboldt, featuring goods made by local artisans.

    IOLA, Kan. — The Bowlus Fine Arts Center will be hosting a Kids Craft Camp starting June 30th through July 31. The camp, led by Iola High School alumni Andi Reynolds will involve hands-on projects, new skills, and awesome crafts to take home. This is for 1st through 5th graders and will be held from 2:30 until 4:30 with 1st and 2nd graders Monday and Wednesday, 3rd through 5th graders Tuesday and Thursday. There is a one-time $10 camp cost per child, waters and materials will be provided.
