McPHERSON COUNTY, Kan. — An attempted traffic stop in Moundridge Thursday led to a chase that ended in a field between Moundridge and Inman. According to the Moundridge Police Department, Officer Wagner began a pursuit after the driver refused to stop that continued for several minutes through rural McPherson County. The chase ended near 15th and Chisholm Road where the driver fled on foot into a nearby field that was waist deep in water.

McPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson Water Park provided an update today on cleanup from Tuesday’s storm. Excess water continues to be pumped off, and while great progress on debris and storm damage has been made, work continues on the pool itself, with pumps running as fast as possible without overloading the system. As of now the pool is not yet at the correct depth for proper filtration to take place so appropriate chemistry can be reached.

The camp, led by Iola High School alumni Andi Reynolds will involve hands-on projects, new skills, and awesome crafts to take home. This is for 1st through 5th graders and will be held from 2:30 until 4:30 with 1st and 2nd graders Monday and Wednesday, 3rd through 5th graders Tuesday and Thursday. There is a one-time $10 camp cost per child, waters and materials will be provided.

McPHERSON, Kan. — In an action full of irony due to its unplanned timing, McPherson City Commissioners approved purchase of a new inflatable boat for the Fire Department. The boat purchased from Rescue One Board, is to replace a boat purchased in 2018 that is at end of life. Rescue One’s bid of $4,180 plus shipping was the lowest of three bids submitted. It approved the purchase of five AEDs for the police Department.
