FOLSOM, Calif. — With peak boating season approaching, Sacramento-area lawmakers are urging state and federal authorities to reconsider a 30-day boating quarantine at Folsom Lake, saying the measure intended to prevent the spread of invasive golden mussels could devastate the local recreation economy. The temporary ban, which runs from April 14 to May 14, restricts motorized boat access to the popular reservoir unless vessels undergo a quarantine inspection and sealing process.
