This guy is not the answer. With the NBA world engrossed in the opening round of the playoffs, the Phoenix Suns have already entered what is going to be a long and busy offseason. Head coach Mike Budenholzer was immediately shown the door, with owner Mat Ishbia following that up with a media tour in which he told anybody who would listen that the Suns are going to win championships. Plural. To be fair to Ishbia, he also took a lot of the blame for what went wrong for the organization.

Maybe he did know what he was talking about after all? The Phoenix Suns are on the look out for a new head coach this offseason, and it is a process that they are not going to rush. Owner Mat Ishbia speaking to the media during what was effectively an exit interview recently, and going on the record saying that a new coach would not be put in place in the next few weeks. This is something the organization simply has to get right, as their last two hires have been disasters.

Some of these guys could have helped the Suns instead. The NBA playoffs are about to get underway, and the Phoenix Suns are going to have to be content watching the action unfold from at home, Cancun or wherever it is they are taking some time away after a miserable season. Owner Mat Ishbia might have come out swinging in his exit interview - Mike Budenholzer didn't even get one of those - but there are no quick fixes here.

Needed to hear this. The NBA playoffs might only be getting started - and what a two months of basketball it is going to be - but the Phoenix Suns have already entered what is sure to be a long and eventful offseason. Speculation is mounting that Kevin Durant has played his last game in The Valley, with the Houston Rockets emerging as a leading candidate to trade for him.

You thought it was all bad in Phoenix. The 2024-25 NBA regular season is officially in the books, which means the Phoenix Suns have been put out of their misery. Not even the false hope of a play-in tournament game to look forward to, as the team could only manage 36 wins despite having Kevin Durant and Devin Booker healthy for much of the campaign. Even worse, the Houston Rockets are likely to benefit from the Suns being so bad and taking what will be a lottery pick from them this summer.
