Around 400 mixed native woodland trees have been planted in the Guisfield area through the Severn Valley Water Management Scheme (SVWMS). The Severn Rivers Trust, that is delivering the SVWMS project to use nature-based solutions to help inform a new water management strategy for the upper Severn, collaborated with staff from a Shrewsbury firm to plant the woodland. Software company SuperByte took a team of employees, directors, and staff to plant the trees at Tirnewydd Farm, Guilsfield.

Alan Hughes of the Farmers to Action campaign group said farmers are set to rock up in the county town on April 30 to ramp up efforts to stop the 'family farm tax' changes to inheritance tax. He said Shropshire Council has been approached over whether the group can park up and stage a static demonstration in the town, but that farmers will ride their tractors - tooting their horns - around Shrewsbury's roads regardless.

Eco ambassadors at Brown Clee Church of England Primary School in Ditton Priors near Bridgnorth spent time litter picking before the Easter holidays, removing rubbish from streets, parks and pathways in the area. One of the primary school's eco-ambassadors, who are responsible for making the school as 'eco conscious' as possible, came up with the idea.

Multi-faith chaplain, Kevin Place has visited wards across the county's hospitals playing his guitar, encouraging patients and staff to dance and sing along. If a patient is bed-bound while in hospital then it can lead to Hospital Associated Deconditioning (HAD), the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) said. So, it's hoped the new 'Music + Move' programme, that was launched in December last year, can help prevent the decline of mobility and improve muscle strength of patients.
