Frustration over the time it took Ferrari to get Hamilton and teammate Charles Leclerc to swap positions during the race, and then, later, being asked to swap those places back, sparked some rather clipped radio messages from the seven-time world champion.

Oscar Piastri triumphed in the Miami Grand Prix ahead of Lando Norris after both McLaren drivers won thrilling separate fights with Max Verstappen. There was controversy immediately when Verstappen locked up at Turn 1 and then Norris was edged off the track as he ran alongside the Red Bull into at Turn 2, after which Piastri surged up to second as his teammate fell down the order.

MIAMI - General Motors' plans to enter Formula One with its Cadillac team from next year and build an engine by 2029 have not been affected by President Donald Trump's tariffs, according to the company's president, despite a $5billion (Β£3.8bn) impact. Cadillac will join the grid as an 11th team, initially racing with Ferrari engines before a GM-produced power unit is ready for 2029. But the auto industry has been heavily impacted by the introduction of new tariffs by the Trump administration.
