I was thrilled to hear best-selling author Tony Doerr speak about his writing life. He’s an American writer of historical fiction and more, books like Cloud Cuckoo Land and All the Light We Cannot See. He spoke during a writing course led by Elisabeth McKetta, author and teacher at Oxford and Harvard, who works out of Cornwall, England. One of McKetta’s mottos is “writers help writers,” and we saw that compassion and generosity in Doerr as well.
