So far this season Houck is 0-3 with an 8.04 ERA through his first nine starts.

The Detroit Tigers have been one of the best teams in baseball through the first quarter of the season. Coming into Monday they had the best record in the American League and were one game back of the Los Angeles Dodgers for the best mark in MLB. They sure looked the part on Monday. The Tigers obliterated the Red Sox in a 14-2 rout, mauling Tanner Houck for 11 runs in 2.1 innings in one of the worst starts by any starting pitcher in the majors so far this year.

No way. Wilyer Abreu just went up to rob a potential home run by Kerry Carpenter, and he batted the ball back into to play and into Ceddanne Rafaela's hands.

Wilyer Abreu pinch hits but grounds into an inning-ending double play. Sox and Tigers are still knotted at 5-5.
