Boston Herald

The Boston Herald is a daily newspaper in the United States that mainly serves Boston, Massachusetts, and its nearby regions. Established in 1846, it is among the oldest daily newspapers in the country. Over the years, the Herald has received eight Pulitzer Prizes, with four awarded for editorial writing and three for photography, prior to its transition to tabloid format in 1981. In 2012, Editor & Publisher recognized it as one of the "10 Newspapers That 'Do It Right'."

    As great white sharks return to feast on seals, local shark researchers are urging people to be “shark smart” and be aware of their surroundings. This safety message from the New England Aquarium comes after the first white shark of the season was confirmed in Massachusetts waters. Over the weekend off Nantucket, a white shark chomped on a seal. A person reported that they saw a pool of blood off Smith’s Point in Madaket. They then saw a seal swimming toward the beach with a shark following behind.
