Showers will increase this week. What we are tracking: In the Pacific Hurricane Erick has increased to a CAT 2 storm and will be moving into the West coast of Mexico. The landfall will occur about 100 miles south of Acapulco. The rain will be tremendous with from 15 to 20 inches of rain expected there. There is one scenario that takes some of that moisture will roll into the Gulf and increase tropical activity there sometime next week.

Isolated Showers This WeekWhat we are tracking: In the Pacific, Tropical Storm Erick will be increasing to Hurricane strength. It is now forecast to hit the West Coast of Mexico this week. It will likely hit in an area south of Acapulco. Extended Outlook: This week will give us some daily afternoon showers. This activity is not expected to produce any severe weather.

Widespread flooding in Crossroads. The torrential downpours have brought tremendous rain to the Crossroads. Rain gauges at Riverside Park report 7.25 inches of rain for today alone. Areas in Calhoun County are reported to have received 10 to 12 inches of rain as well. The area is under a Flood Warnings and that will likely continue into Friday. Extended Outlook:Friday will bring us a few more thundershowers but the activity will begin to decrease in intensity.

More storms expected, possible flooding. Another round of stormy weather is expected tonight. With any additional rain and saturated grounds, downpours could lead to quick flooding. Watch out for low water crossings and low spots that could flood with heavy rain. Extended Outlook: The strong storm activity will continue through Friday. Additional showers expected into the weekend but these will be driven by afternoon heating and will be decreasings

More Storms Ahead. We are definitely in a stormy weather pattern for most of this week. We are expected another line of thunderstorms to develop in West Texas and travel all the way to the Crossroads. What we are tracking: Most of South Texas is expected o have a marginal threat of severe thunderstorms. These will be slow moving downpours. Flooding will be a real threat later this week. Extended Outlook: Look for a week of heavy rain storms that will last all the way into the weekend.
