MSU is in the midst of 21 different building projects, notably including renovations to Campbell Hall, construction of the Multicultural Center and reconstruction of the Farm Lane bridge. With election day quickly approaching, Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris made one last campaign stop in East Lansing in her fight to win the battleground state of Michigan. The campaign rally was held at Jenison Field House on MSU’s campus, filling the 6,000-seat arena to near capacity. Before doors opened at 2:30 p.m., attendees waited in a line stretching across Dem Field, backed up to the Spartan Statue.

Presidential candidates have focused on Michigan college students due to their heavy influence in voter demographics, including addresses to MSU students made by Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz and Sen. Bernie Sanders. Michigan is among only seven swing states won by less than three percentage points during the 2020 presidential election, making it a key battleground for the upcoming election in November.

The Office for Education Abroad hosted the annual Global Learning Expo (formerly the Education Abroad Expo) Wednesday, Oct. 2nd at the Breslin Center. The event featured over 130 tables with information about different opportunities for studying abroad. There were tables representing 12 different colleges in MSU. The Global Learning Expo included a raffle, a table for passport registration, giveaways and a guest appearance from Sparty.
