The instructors fall into two categories: 16 who were “underperforming,” according to superintendent Dr. Saul Hinojosa, and another 22 teachers who were not certified. KSAT spoke with Hinojosa on Wednesday afternoon.

SAN ANTONIO – Districts across San Antonio and Texas are considering whether to adopt new state-approved teaching materials that have sparked controversy for being “Bible-infused.”The South San Antonio Independent School District recently adopted the “Bluebonnet Learning” curriculum that was approved by the State Board of Education late last year. Several other school districts in the San Antonio area told KSAT they adopted the math portion of the curriculum or don’t plan to adopt it at all.

SAN ANTONIO – Even one month after losing their son, Joanna and Carlos Holt say his death doesn’t feel real. “I still go up (to his bedroom) and believe he’s supposed to be in there,” Carlos said. Hayden Lee Holt was shot and killed on Feb. 23. Four people have been arrested in connection with his death. The most recent was Joseph Harris, who made the Texas Department of Public Safety’s 10 most wanted list in March as a result of the case.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol released dash camera footage showing the moments leading up to the arrest of an armed man wanted in connection with an AMBER Alert for two girls out of San Antonio. Kaudrie Grant, 11, and Aspen Johnson, 1, were found on April 1 near Oklahoma City, DPS said. Scott Young, 35, and Leigh Sanford, 30, were wanted in connection with the children’s disappearance, according to DPS. Young also had an active warrant.
