Several Pee Dee agencies will receive grant money from the Duke Energy Foundation for emergency preparedness. Spelling champions from across the country have been competing all week at the 2025 Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., and one of those smart students is 13-year-old Connor Norton from Socastee Middle School. Unfortunately, Norton is out of the running to win after the quarterfinals.

One patrol car at the Horry County Police Department now features a Grappler on the front: a bumper-mounted net and tether to stop high-speed suspects in their tracks.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) - Memorial Day reminds us to take a pause and remember the thousands of men and women who lost their lives while serving in the military. The city of Myrtle Beach held its annual Memorial Day Ceremony in collaboration with the Military Appreciation Committee at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center on Monday. Veterans, community members, city leaders and loved ones came together to honor and remember fallen service members.
