BRISTOL, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Bristol, Tennessee City Council voted Tuesday night to rescind — at least for now — a proposed agreement between the city, school system, and Boyd Sports for the operation of a new baseball stadium at Tod Houston Field. The agreement was rescinded after the school board informed the council that it would not sign it until an agreement was reached regarding its use of a second facility.

The phone booth serves as a “wind phone” for guests to connect with loved ones who have passed on. “They can come here, have that conversation in private, with no judgment,” Location Director Anthony Harris said.

GRAY, Tenn. (WJHL) – What started as a small discovery in 2000 is now a popular attraction in the Tri-Cities. 25 years after that discovery, the Gray Fossil Site continues to evolve, with new discoveries every day. On Saturday, the Fossil Site kicked off its 25th anniversary celebration, a milestone many couldn’t believe had already arrived. “Most people are like, ‘No way, I can’t believe it’s been 25 years since that time,'” said Executive Director Blaine Shubert.

MOUNTAIN CITY, Tenn. (WJHL)—Located just off Highway 421 in Mountain City, Antioch Baptist Church had stood strong since its construction in 1942 until it was washed away in September during Hurricane Helene. “The rain stopped and me and my wife had come to town and seen some of the damage,” said Pastor Mike Fenner. “But [we] hadn’t come up to the church. So I got a text from a lady, a friend of ours, who said, ‘Sorry about the church.’ And we didn’t know what she was talking about.

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) – Rural King customers in the Model City have voiced their concerns regarding the store’s 1% “Economic Development Fee” on top of the retail price. Kingsport Economic Development Director Steven Bower said store owners were transparent about the fee. “The fee was brought to our attention right before they opened the store,” Bower said. “They let us know they were going to implement it.”Kingsport resident December Taylor said the signs posted were not easily seen.
