BRISTOL, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Bristol, Tennessee City Council voted Tuesday night to rescind — at least for now — a proposed agreement between the city, school system, and Boyd Sports for the operation of a new baseball stadium at Tod Houston Field. The agreement was rescinded after the school board informed the council that it would not sign it until an agreement was reached regarding its use of a second facility.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A four-day pickleball tournament benefiting a local organization got underway on Thursday. The Rally for Roofs Pickleball Tournament is taking place at three venues across the Tri-Cities and will benefit Holston Habitat for Humanity. Holston Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Laura Kelly said more than 250 people are participating in the tournament.

The program is designed to empower women who have faced adversity, such as poverty, abuse, and trauma. Jennifer Ritter, the founder of The Magnolia Project, said the goal is to help women take a step forward in their lives upon graduation. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for so many women,” Ritter said.

Update: The interstate has reopened, according to TDOT. JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A section of Interstate 26 East is closed in Johnson City due to a crash. According to TDOT, a “multi-vehicle crash” was reported at 6:14 p.m. at mile marker 20.6, near the North Roan Street exit. Both eastbound lanes are closed, according to TDOT.
