It’s official: Soccer Mommy, a.k.a. Sophia Regina Allison, is a Birds fan. Well, maybe not a fan. But the Swiss-born, Nashville-raised indie/emo/grunge artist did give her Philly audience a “Go Eagles!” amidst persistent shouts ahead of Sunday’s NFC Championship game. Saturday night’s stop at Union Transfer was the second show on Allison’s North American tour promoting Evergreen, her project’s sixth LP.

Artist To WatchAfter staying relatively underground for a while, Lenderman’s latest is already making waves in the indie music scene and beyond. I don’t care what the calendar says, September still feels like the start of a new year. And MJ Lenderman is our Artist to Watch ringing it in with his fifth album, Manning Fireworks, to be released this Friday. MJ Lenderman began his career not as a guitarist, but as a drummer for Indigo De Souza, playing on I Love My Mom and Any Shape You Take.

The stage this Friday included most of the usual setup – drums, a few guitars, a keyboard. What stood out most were the canvas and paint supplies. Minnesota alt-rock band Cloud Cult, started by Craig Minowa, has always included an artist or two to finish a painting during the set. At their Free at Noon debut, Scott West was onstage alongside the six-piece band, spinning his canvas and singing along.

After much anticipation and several teasers on Instagram and x/Twitter, Brit rock icons Oasis have announced that brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher are getting the band back together. This morning, the band announced Live ’25, a major series of summer shows in the UK and Ireland, and their first concerts together in 15 years. “This is it, this is happening,” an Instagram post stated simply.

California folk-rock staple Dawes just dropped “Still Strangers Sometimes.” It’s the second single from their upcoming album, Oh Brother, hitting the shelves on October 11th on Dead Ringers via Secretly Canadian Distribution. Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith co-produced “Still Strangers Sometimes” with friend and collaborator Mike Viola.
