Danny Karnik - GTAA McCAMISH PAVILION — After a rough loss in Clemson last Thursday, #19 Georgia Tech women’s basketball is back in the win column after beating the Wake Forest Demon Deacons 73-62, moving to 21-5 (9-5 ACC) on the season and get an important ACC win where they are battling to potentially get a #4 seed and a double bye in the ACC Tournament. The win marks head coach Nell Fortner’s 2nd season with 21 wins at Georgia Tech, her first time getting to 21 before tournament season.

THE THRILLERDOME — The #13 Jackets were handed their first loss tonight in a barnburner, falling to Virginia Tech in 2OT, 105-94. Kara Dunn dropped 33 points and 10 on the night leading all scorers and recording her third double-double this season. Tonie Morgan notched her 1,000th point as a Yellow Jacket and scored 28 this evening. Tech moves to 15-1 (3-1 ACC) on the season, ending both the longest win streak to start a season and longest win streak in program history for the team.

Danny Karnik - GTAA McCAMISH PAVILION — “We’ve haven’t earned anything yet. We’ve done nothing yet,” said #17 Georgia Tech Women’s Basketball head coach Nell Fortner amidst a flurry of praises she gave her team after defeating #23 Nebraska 72-61 to move to 13-0 (1-0 ACC) on the season. The undefeated Jackets still consider themselves underdogs in every game as freshman Dani Carnegie put it, and so far this mentality that they have much to prove still has worked to a record level.

ATLANTA — Georgia Tech moves to 8-0 after defeating Mississippi State 78-75 in this year’s ACC/SEC Challenge. Last night’s victory was hard-fought and exciting, with 17 lead changes and five tied scores. The stat sheet favored the Bulldogs, who shot over 50% to the Jackets’s 38%, but Tech was able to fight back by capitalizing on 17 MSU turnovers.
