However, this natural wonder is now threatened by human activities and environmental degradation. Throughout American education, the statistics are glaring: Boys are twice as likely to be diagnosed with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder; five times more likely to be placed in juvenile detention, and only 40% of college students. For minority youths, the gap is even wider. There are two Black women for every Black man graduating with a college degree.
