There was a major police incident in Cloverdale around noon on Friday, May 30. Police were at 61A Avenue and 176th Street and, according to some users on Facebook, police used serious measures. “They used a flash-bang to take a single guy down who was walking on the street,” Facebook user Lori Little wrote.

A new market will light up the Clayton night this summer. Starting tonight (May 30), the new Clayton Night Market will host its first of five Friday summer dates in 2025. A post on Discover Surrey's Facebook page says the market is being put on the same group who runs the Clayton Market. “Surrey's newest way to enjoy those longer summer nights with food trucks, local shopping, live entertainment, and a beer garden,” the post reads.

The Kyle Sherbaty Memorial Golf Tournament is around the corner. The second annual event will be held July 12 at Swaneset in Pitt Meadows. Kyle, the son of Craig Sherbaty, the director of hockey operations for the Cloverdale Minor Hockey Association, was a coach and mentor in both Cloverdale and the wider hockey community. Kyle, affectionately known as “Sherbs,” passed away two years ago at the age of 33.

Video has surfaced of a small brawl on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds over Rodeo Weekend. Film shot on May 18, during the 77th Cloverdale Rodeo and the 134th Country Fair, shows at least eight people, and possibly more than 10, engaged in a brawl in the midway area of the Fairgrounds in front of hundreds of onlookers. The video seems to have been shot around noon or in the early afternoon.
