The great outdoors? Almost always great. We love to camp as a family and our two children, aged five and eight, love it too. Most of the time. When you camp with kids you accept that occasionally there will be testing times. It may be cold and wet. You might run out of gas or milk or Freddo Frogs. Ultimately, though, it's all worth it. Not only do we get to spend really quality time with the kids, away from screens, but it is also a little easier on the wallet.

Running clubs have exploded in popularity over the last 12 months and show no sign of slowing down any time soon. Now, running may technically be free. But of course that is not quite the case. I have four pairs of running shoes, including race-day shoes in rotation. Shorts, tops, running socks, sports armband, belt and of course all the nutrition that comes with training.

If you could go back and relive any famous sporting occasion or music concert from history, what would you choose? Perhaps Ali v Foreman in the Rumble in the Jungle, The Who at Isle of Wight Festival or Cathy Freeman in 2000? It's a question sometimes thrown around our group of friends and my answer is always the same: Aberdeen v St Mirren, Pittodrie Stadium, 1985. The first game I went to with my dad. That's the heartbreaking thing they never tell you about being a father or a parent.
