INTRODUCTION Common-γ cytokines are named after the γc chain receptor chain (CD132) that is part of all receptor complexes in this family. γc cytokines fulfil various functions in the immune system and, especially, T-cell activation and differentiation depend on γc cytokines (mainly IL-2 and IL-7) [1]. IL-2 provides the crucial third signal during T-cell activation promoting proliferation and differentiation of naïve T cells towards effector T cells.
