I retired from federal government service in 2008 after over 27 years. I didn’t know it at the time, but I was the “Deep State.”Today, the Deep State is under fierce and unrelenting attack. Thousands of civil servants have been thrown into the “wood chipper.”kAm(92E :D E96 s66A $E2E6nk^AmkAmxE’D FD[ 7C@> E96 7@=<D H9@ DH66A 7=@@CD :? 7656C2= 3F:=5:?8D E@ E9@D6 :?

A quick moving storm system will affect our area on Saturday evening and night. As of right now, we do not have any advisories for the storm system, but it is looking increasingly likely that a Winter Weather Advisory will be needed starting late afternoon or evening across a chunk of our area. The quick hitting storm that will bring the light snow to the area moves into our western counties mid to late afternoon.

In Louisville, statistics show our first Fall frost normally occurs on October 20th, but we are likely to get that early this year as skies clear out tonight and temperatures plummet. This means if you have anything that is sensitive to a frost or freeze, you should be covering that before 2 am tonight. We will likely have a repeat again tomorrow night. As skies clear overnight and winds lighten this will allow the atmosphere to cool quickly.

The International Space Station (ISS) will be visible in the night sky tonight, making a long duration pass above our area. The longest the ISS will fly over our area is about 7 minutes, so at 6 minutes tonight this is a long duration pass. It won't be ultra high in the sky, so it would be best to view this one away from any tall trees that may be near your house. We start by looking at the sky conditions. If it isn't clear, then you don't get a chance to view this.
