    OXFORD COUNTY - It's the first day of summer and there's good news for those who enjoy the heat. Environment Canada Meteorologist Steven Flisfeder says we can expect above seasonal temperatures for the most part. "That's not to say that every day and every week is going to be a high temperature. There will be variation but when everything is considered, expect above seasonal temperatures."The average daytime high is around 25 or 26 for the end of June.

    TAVISTOCK - Tickets are selling fast for Thunderfest, a Hoedown with Heart. The family friendly event will takeover Transitions Equine Assistance on Maplewood Sideroad, just outside Tavistock, on Saturday July 12th from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.Organizer Alisha Wilson walks us through the packed schedule. "There is going to be a vendor market from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., we have a kids zone, hands on horse activities, and a pottery workshop.

    SCOTLAND - Crews responded to a fully engulfed house fire in Scotland. It was on Maple Ave South, between Norwich Road and Burford-Delhi Townline Road. In a video posted on the OPP West Region X page, Sergeant Ed Sanchuk said the call came in at around 3:00 p.m. yesterday. "Firefighters arrived on scene and were met with a full engulfed home on fire. They were able to quickly extinguish that blaze and prevent it from spreading to an outbuilding nearby."He also had some more good news to share.

    SWOX - No one was hurt, but significant damage has been reported after a house fire in South-West Oxford. Fire crews from Mount Elgin and Brownsville were called out to Keswick Road at around 11:30 p.m. yesterday. They immediately noticed smoke and fire coming from the second floor of the building.  Fire Chief Shane Caskanette says they attacked the fire from the outside first before entering the building, and they were able to get it under control.

    TILLSONBURG - Tillsonburg Running with the Bulls is back for another year. It will takeover the Trans Canada Trail in Tillsonburg on Saturday July 19th this year. Tamara Bull started Running with the Bulls last year, to support families going through financial struggles following a cancer diagnosis. This was inspired by her own experience, after her adult son Nathan Bull was diagnosed with cancer in 2023.
