TILLSONBURG - Oxford County is about to lose one of its movie theatres. Tillsonburg's Broadway Cinemas announced last week that it will be closing after its final screening on Thursday, May 15th. In a press release, the theatre thanks the Town of Tillsonburg for its support over the years and it encouraged people to support local cinemas whenever possible. We will only have two local movie theatre options in Oxford County once Broadway Cinemas closes.

Impaired Driver in South-West Oxford

SWOX - Charges have been laid after OPP officers responded to a report of an erratic driver on Plank Line in South-West Oxford. The call came in at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday May 6th and officers wound up arresting a 46-year-old from Tillsonburg. They were charged with operation while impaired by alcohol, operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80, and dangerous driving. Their licence has been suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was also impounded for a week.
Measles Exposures at Woodstock Hospital

WOODSTOCK - Southwestern Public Health is reporting two cases of measles exposure at the Woodstock Hospital. The first was in the emergency department between 1:30 p.m. and 5:09 p.m. on Saturday May 10th. The second was in the waiting room of the emergency department, between 12:07 p.m. and 2:22 p.m. on Sunday May 11th. Measles is highly contagious and it can live in the air for up to two hours.

THAMES CENTRE - The Oxford OPP is on the lookout for a missing 17-year-old. Police say Caleb was last spotted on Avon Drive, close to Pigram Line, in Thames Centre at 11:00 p.m. yesterday. He stands at about 5'9 with a medium build, short dark hair and he also has a bit a facial hair. Caleb also also last seen wearing red t-shirt with blue jeans and boots. WOODSTOCK - The search is on for a missing 15-year-old in Woodstock. Police say Austin was last seen on Devonshire Ave yesterday morning, close to Cowan Fields and Holy Trinity Church. He's white and has brown hair and glasses and you can find a picture of what he was last seen wearing below this article. Windsor Man Charged in Woodstock

WOODSTOCK - What started out as a suspicious person report, ended with the discovery of a stolen vehicle. Woodstock Police officers were called out to a commercial parking lot on Dundas Street at around 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday. They found a man who matched the description of the person they were looking for and he was with an SUV that had been stolen in Brantford. A 25-year-old from Windsor has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and failure to comply with probation.

KINTORE - It's been 10 years since the Andrew's Legacy first started. On May 11th, 2015, 15-year-old Andrew Stoddart had dinner with his family before heading to the soccer field in Kintore for the first game of the season. It started to rain, but the game kept going while spectators hopped in their vehicles to stay dry. Cara Schmidt, Andrew's mother, remembers a rainbow on the field once the rain stopped, and the moment she realized that Andrew was down on the field.

VATICAN CITY - The Catholic Church has elected the new pope. The cardinals broke tradition and elected Chicago-born missionary Robert Prevost, making him the first pope from the United States and the 267th pontiff to lead the Catholic Church. Prevost is 69-years-old and he's a member of the Augustinian religious order. He's also a Peruvian citizen and has lived in Peru for years. He officially took the name Leo XIV yesterday.
