DiscussionThis study describes the Australian adult public’s knowledge and experiences regarding substitute decision-making for medical decisions and their preferences for obtaining more information about the SDM role. Less than four in ten participants reported that they had heard of, or discussed, ACP and only 11% reported having documented their ACP preferences.
