    Multimillion-pound funding has been approved for a planned waste plant to boost home recycling. The materials recovery facility (MRF) will allow kerbside collections of waste such as glass and plastic trays, Hampshire County Council said. The authority, which is sharing the cost with councils in Portsmouth and Southampton, has allocated up to £50.5m. The plant is due to open on council land off Chickenhall Lane, Eastleigh, by the end of 2027.

Colorectal consultant Daniel McGrath ceased surgery shortly after operating on 52-year-old Lorraine Parker at Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading in January 2024. In a report on Mrs Parker's death, Senior Berkshire Coroner Heidi Connor said she had raised concerns about the surgeon with the General Medical Council (GMC).

On the one hand, I kind of can't believe "The Penguin" -- a spinoff of "The Batman" in which Colin Farrell sounds like a Mike Francesa caller -- has a claim to be the best show on television. On the other, he, Cristin Millotti, and the rest of the cast are *that* good.
