A Pennsylvania man allegedly beheaded his father and posted a horrific YouTube video that appears to show the man’s head in a bloodied plastic bag. The video has since been taken down. Middletown Township Police responded around 7 p.m. Tuesday and discovered a man who had been beheaded in the bathroom of a home, Fox 29 reported. Justin Mohn is accused in the gruesome death of his father in Levittown and was arrested around 9 p.m., according to law enforcement sources cited by LevittownNow.com.

A Washington, D.C., carjacking left a Trump administration official in critical condition on Monday after he was shot, and the suspect was gunned down by police after killing a second driver, according to a report. Six people were taken to the hospital after an American Airlines flight “experienced an issue upon landing” Saturday at Kahului Airport in Hawaii, The Messenger has confirmed. American Airlines Flight 271 was traveling from Los Angeles to Maui with 167 customers and 7 crew members when the incident occurred, a spokesperson for the company told The Messenger in an email. One passenger and five flight attendants were transported to a local hospital and later released, according to the statement.

Police in Indiana rescued five zebras, four camels and a miniature horse from the burning trailer of a semi-truck that caught on fire while hauling the circus animals early Saturday. A state trooper on patrol came across the truck around 2 a.m. on Interstate 69 near Marion and saw the trailer was “engulfed in flames,” according to a news release. The driver, a 57-year-old Florida man hauling the animals for Shrine Circus, had already exited the vehicle.

Two students were fatally shot in a hail of gunfire while leaving their high school in downtown Chicago on Friday afternoon, according to authorities. Six students were exiting Innovations High School around 12:25 p.m. when a group of individuals pulled up in two vehicles, got out and "fired multiple times," Chicago Police Deputy Chief Jon Hein said at a press conference. Two were struck by the gunfire and taken to an area hospital, where they died, he said.

A serial killer in New Mexico was sentenced to 45 years in prison for the murders of three young women in the late 1980s that went unsolved for more than 30 years. Paul Apodaca pleaded guilty Thursday to three counts of second-degree murder, Bernalillo County District Attorney Sam Bregman announced on X, formerly Twitter. He turns 56 on Saturday and “will spend the rest of his life in prison where he can't hurt anyone else,” Bregman said.

The City of Seattle has settled a lawsuit for $10 million with more than 50 protesters who sued after clashes with police during demonstrations in 2020 over the murder of George Floyd. Floyd, an unarmed Black man, died after Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, who is white, knelt on his neck for 9 1/2 minutes. The incident was captured on video, and Floyd could be heard saying, “I can’t breathe.”His death sparked global Black Lives Matter protests, including in Seattle.

Five Florida teenagers accused of crashing stolen cars into GameStop stores to steal video games and consoles have been arrested, according to authorities. The series of burglaries occurred from Dec. 30 to Jan. 1, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said in a news release. The suspects, who range in age from 13 to 17, allegedly made off with about $8,000 in merchandise and caused $50,000 in property damage.

A land mine was discovered in a Colorado storage unit Wednesday, prompting authorities to tell nearby residents to shelter in place. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office issued the warning for a quarter-mile radius of 10201 W. Hampden Ave., which is listed online as a self-storage facility. "At that location, a land mine was discovered in a storage unit," authorities said. A real estate agent in the Las Vegas area was sentenced for scamming her elderly “best friend” with dementia out of nearly $640,000 after she manipulated him into thinking they were dating. Sophia Smith, 50, was found guilty in December of exploiting an older or vulnerable person, theft and credit card fraud, KLAS reported. She was sentenced Tuesday to six months in jail, but faces the possibility of having to serve a suspended 12- to 30-year prison sentence if she violates parole.
