Boone County Commissioners have elected to pay an attorney’s bill, but with the stipulation that he no longer work for the county. Bob Clutter in May billed the Boone County Health Department $3,000 for services rendered. Clutter was for years contracted as the commissioners’ attorney and largely rolled work for the health department into his contract.

Friday night was an occasion for fist pumps and confetti at Lebanon High School. Class president Joe Susong led the 149th graduating Lebanon High School class into the gymnasium. Friends and family in the bleachers cheered and whistled. They waved bouquets of flowers, baby photos, and signs attached to sticks at their children who stood in black robes on the edge of adulthood.

Families flocked to a special street fair Monday afternoon in front of the Lebanon Public Library. The annual event kicked off the library’s summer reading program, titled Color our World. Attractions included a petting zoo, live music, carnival games, a scavenger hunt, inflatable features and free snow cones. Community organizations, including Boone County Solid Waste Management, The Humane Society for Boone County, and Boy Scouts set up tents in the 100 block of E.
