ABSTRACTThe U.S. military has been met with challenges in manning to meet mission requirements over the past several years. As the number of waivers approved has progressively increased over the last decade, the question of long-term service and performance has emerged. A longitudinal analysis was performed to assess time-in-service outcomes from individuals who received a waiver for a mental health condition while in Basic Military Training (BMT).

On November 17, 2023,President Joe Biden signed a second continuing resolution (CR), extending government funding and avoiding ashutdown. The “two-tier” CR included two separate funding deadlines: The first bill funds four federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), until January 19, 2024. All additional federal agencies and the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) were extended until February. 2, 2024.
