SACRAMENTO, California — Sacramento's R&B, soul and hip-hop music festival Sol Blume is set to be back in full bloom this weekend. After getting postponed due to flooding in April, Sol Blume is back and will be held at Discovery Park this weekend, Aug. 19 and 20. Last spring, Sol Blume successfully hosted over 40,000 total attendees from across the country as well as half a dozen international countries spanning four continents.

FOLSOM, Calif. — A major pavement rehabilitation project for a smoother, safer and more durable roadway is currently underway in Folsom. The project will take place on Blue Ravine Road between Prairie City Road and East Bidwell Street. City of Folsom says daytime work will take place between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Starting Aug. 17, nighttime work will happen from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for 6 to 10 non-consecutive nights, depending on production.

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — Sacramento County law enforcement officers are in south Sacramento where a man is barricaded inside a house. The sheriff’s office says it started around 5 p.m. Thursday near the 9000 block of Cobble Bay Court. They say the barricaded suspect is armed. People should avoid the area, if possible.

FOLSOM, Calif — Intel Corporation plans to lay off nearly 90 employees by the end of August at its Folsom campus. It's the fourth series of mass layoffs at the Folsom campus since Dec. 2022 with a total of 605 employees losing their jobs so far. The technology company plans to permanently remove 89 employees at its Folsom location, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice filed to the California Employment Development Department.

FOLSOM, Calif — Another rebranding is taking place for a longtime Mexican establishment in Historic Folsom and this time Mexican food will not be the only option on the menu. After just reopening in March, Hacienda Real, formerly known as Hacienda Del Rio, is temporarily closing its doors for yet another transformation. Restaurant owner Michael Sanson recently announced the Mexican eatery will be replaced by an American-style restaurant and bar, Riley's on Sutter.
