There’s a Tricare plan that allows qualified young adult children to continue their health care coverage. Tricare Young Adult is a plan that qualified adult children can buy after their eligibility for regular Tricare coverage ends at age 21 or at age 23 if they’re enrolled in college, according to Mike Reid, chief of the managed care division at Fox Army Health Center.

Vinny Boles, a retired major general, started swimming laps at the Aquatics Center after its official opening in February 2013. He’s here three to four times a week, trying to get in 100 to 150 laps. “It’s the best pool in the county,” he said before starting his late-morning laps. “We’re very, very fortunate to have it.”The Aquatics Center, with its eight-lane, 25-yard pool, is located in building 3705 on Aerobee Road and open from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.

A patient at Fox Army Health Center for the last 15 years, Theresa Hauck is now a front desk volunteer, greeting patients, directing them to the pharmacy or clinics, assisting with the kiosks in the lobby and getting them a wheelchair if needed. “Giving back is important,” said Hauck, who wanted to work with senior adults as a volunteer.

The replacement of about 200 HVAC units across the Redstone family housing property is scheduled to start next week. In all, “203 units are being replaced, based on the age of the units and the work history,” Brittany Morrison, the community director for Redstone family housing, said. “Two pilot units have been done in vacant houses in Columbia Center and some were done because they failed before the start of the project” and that work was done by a local vendor.

Redstone Lanes is again offering family cards for summer bowling savings.
