    We wanted to publish this story two years ago, after learning about Make the Road New York’s new headquarters in Corona, Queens from architect Andrea Steele at an Architectural League program on new community centers. But the project, a custom-built new home for one of the city’s most prominent and powerful immigrant organizations, wasn’t quite finished. We hoped we could publish this story before the 2024 elections, fearing the worst.
