The celebrations kicked off with a launch evening on 4 April with cheese and wine, sponsored by John Donahue Premium Wine and Elizabeth Bradley Carlow Farmhouse Cheese. The event brought together current and former members, along with relatives of past members who have since passed away.

    A SIGNIFICANT milestone was marked recently at Éire Óg GAA Club in Carlow with the official opening of the club’s newly-transformed gym facility, now named The Anne Brennan Éire Óg Training Hub in tribute to a beloved figure in the club’s history. The revitalised facility, which had undergone extensive renovations over several weeks, was officially opened by Gerry Brennan, husband of the late Anne, who served as the first female secretary of Éire Óg in 1994.

    GARRYHILL Handball Club’s instrumental music group has brought glory to Carlow after winning the Leinster Senior Scór final in Ceol Uirlise (instrumental music) on Sunday 6 April at The Downs GAA Club in Westmeath. The talented quintet, comprised of Diarmuid O’Neill, Aislinn Joyce, Killian O’Rourke, James Hosey and Sonny Cahill, will advance to represent their club, county and province at the All-Ireland final in Castlebar on Saturday 26 April.

    GAELSCOIL Eoghain Uí Thuairisc has achieved remarkable success on the national stage, bringing home the highest accolade in Irish-language school drama at Féile Scoildrámaíochta. The school won the All-Ireland drama competition in Mullingar on Wednesday 9 April at the Féile Scoildrámaíochta finals. The Carlow Gaelscoil not only claimed first place in its category but also secured the prestigious overall prize of Scothlérití na Féile (best overall performance).
