Nine victims of the Post Office Horizon scandal have shared their stories of despair, loss and shame with BBC Breakfast in a powerful and moving interview. They represent just a fraction of the 700-plus sub-postmasters and sub-postmistresses who are victims of one of the most widespread miscarriages of justice the UK has ever seen. The group who gather on the red sofa of the BBC One morning show, and spill over on to stools, sit in front of a set branded with red oval Post Office signs.

The storm brought gusts of up to 81mph, causing widespread travel disruption, flooding and power cuts. The biggest gust of 81mph was recorded at Exeter Airport in Devon. Several rail firms warned people not to travel as blocked trees or power failures affected the network.

Waves crash in BrightonA large swathe of the UK is expected to be battered by high winds and rain throughout the day as Storm Henk hits. The Met Office has issued an amber wind warning for travel disruption, roof damage and possible power cuts across southern England, the Midlands, East Anglia and Wales until 20:00 GMT. Gusts of 70 to 80mph are expected on exposed coasts in the west. Inland they are likely to be up to 60mph. Heavy rain is also expected across most of England and Wales.

More bitterly cold nights are on the way for much of the UK, with temperatures set to drop well below zero. Overnight temperatures dipped to a frosty -6.1C (21F) in the Oxfordshire village of Benson, and most places saw readings as low as -2C to -5C. The coldest night is forecast on Friday when temperatures could drop to -9C. Large swathes of the UK are under yellow weather warnings for snow and ice, making travel disruption likely.

People across parts of the UK had their coldest November night since 2010 on Wednesday - and have three more days of snow and ice warnings ahead of them. On Aonach Mor in the Scottish Highlands, it was a bitter -8C (18F). In lower-lying Prestwick, in Ayrshire, the overnight temperature fell to -5.5C (22F) and dropped to a chilly -6.1C (21F) in the Cumbrian town of Keswick. Snow has fallen across Scotland and east England, as far south as Norfolk. It will stay cold for a few more days.

Overnight, temperatures dipped to -8C (18F) in Scotland and -6C (21F) in northern England. Snow has fallen across Scotland and east England, as far south as Norfolk. Freezing fog is making travel treacherous in parts of the Midlands, north-west England and Northern Ireland, and could develop elsewhere.
