Data curation and quality control Field names (i.e. data table columns) from existing databases were synonymized for inclusion in BioDeepTime (see Appendix , Tables .1–S1.17 and ‘Synonymy of sources’ in Smith et al. (2023b)). To include as many time series as possible, we allowed the methods and types of data used to infer sample ages to vary among data sets, as long as the methods were consistent within each time series.
