    Click here for updates on this story    CARPENTERSVILLE, Illinois (WBBM) -- A third child has died following Sunday morning's house fire in Carpentersville, Illinois. The fire happened around 9:43 a.m. in the 1700 block of Kingston Circle. When crews arrived, four people were in the burning home, but it was too late to save the other two boys inside. The 1-year-old was taken to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin for treatment, but later died.

    Chicago is taking a big step in rebuilding the Loop's vacant Financial District to become more residential-friendly. Officials will break ground on Thursday on the historic Rector Building, which will become the city's first office-to-residential conversion project. The Rector is one of four buildings slated for a full makeover. Mayor Johnson and the developers selected for the project will break ground at 79 W.

    The 13-year-old boy who died after a gun was discharged inside a home in the Englewood neighborhood Monday evening has been identified. Chicago police said the teen, identified by the Medical Examiner as Tawon Tribble, was inside the home in the 500 block of West 65th Place, when a gun was fired just after 6:45 p.m. The 13-year-old was struck in the chest. Tribble was taken to the University of Chicago's Comer Children's Hospital, where he died.

    The Chicago Teachers Union is holding a rally with firefighters on Monday as they negotiate a new contract. The teachers union and Chicago Public Schools appear close to a new deal but have hit some bumps in the final stretch of negotiations. Both groups will be on the Near West Side as both groups simultaneously work to negotiate a new contract.
