After months of looming like a distant mountain on the horizon, Comrades is now just days away - and suddenly I’m staring down the start line of the hardest race of my life. Four weeks ago, it still felt like something future me had to deal with. But now it’s here - and the only thing louder than the taper nerves is the thought: Can I really do this? The shift is part of a new partnership with ticketing provider SeatGeek and means fans will be required to store their match and season tickets on their smartphones via Apple or Google Wallets. Entry to home fixtures will then be via the existing contactless readers at turnstiles and entry points. The club says the move will support its sustainability objectives by reducing the need for plastic cards and paper tickets, while also improving the matchday experience.

The charity will provide financial and practical support to those already doing critical work in animal care, rehoming, and rehabilitation. The charity’s board of trustees includes well-known fundraiser and animal welfare advocate Neil Featherby, along with Graham Ringer, Craig and Tracey Bowen Jones, Oliver Downes, Karen Grapes, Karen Davies, Jodie Causer, and Bhaskar Khumar - all of whom bring experience, energy, and deep compassion for animals to the organisation.
