    North Carolina’s Drake Powell is heading to the Brooklyn Nets. Powell was the first North Carolina player selected during Wednesday night's 2025 NBA Draft. The Atlanta Hawks technically drafted Powell with the 22nd pick. However, Powell will play for the Nets, who acquired the rights to the pick in a trade. The Nets received the 22nd pick and Terance Mann in a three-team deal involving the Hawks and the Boston Celtics. The Hawks received Kristaps Porzingis and a second-round pick.

    — Duke big man Khaman Maluach is heading to the Phoenix Suns. The Houston Rockets technically selected Maluach on Wednesday night with the 10th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. However, the Suns own the rights to the pick after Sunday’s blockbuster trade that sent Kevin Durant to the Rockets. ESPN also reported the Suns also acquired Charlotte Hornets center Mark Williams in exchange for the No. 29 pick on Wednesday night and a 2029 first-round pick.

    — The Charlotte Hornets selected Duke’s Kon Knueppel on Wednesday night with the fourth overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. The Milwaukee native was Duke’s second player selected on Wednesday night. The Mavericks took Cooper Flagg with the first overall pick. Knueppel was one of the fastest risers in this year’s draft, given his size at 6’5”, off-ball movement and shooting ability. Knueppel pairs with LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller in Charlotte.

    — The Dallas Mavericks selected Duke star Cooper Flagg on Wednesday night with the first pick of the 2025 NBA Draft. Flagg, 18, is the sixth Duke player to be picked No. 1 overall in the NBA Draft, joining Art Heyman (1963), Elton Brand (1999), Kyrie Irving (2011), Zion Williamson (2019) and Paolo Banchero (2022). "I'm feeling amazing," Flagg told ESPN's Monica McNutt.
